Throughout the world, Indigenous peoples are on the front lines of the climate crisis while also confronting colonialism, racism, and disenfranchisement. Join ISE and Mason’s Human Rights and Global Justice Initiative for this dynamic panel discussion. Academics, practitioners, and policy-makers from multiple countries will share their expertise and experience working in the nexus between Indigenous rights and environmental justice. We will explore the impacts of extractive capitalism, climate change, and public health emergencies, as well as a range of strategies that native communities are utilizing to protect their lands and waters.
