The Sid and Reva Dewberry Department of Civil, Environmental, and Infrastructure Engineering and the Institute for a Sustainable Earth are pleased to sponsor a seminar event featuring Dr. Mahmoud Mohieldin, Senior Vice President, World Bank Group. Dr. Mohieldin will discuss the global shift to a rhetoric of sustainability. He will introduce Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and highlight current global megatrends as well as the opportunities and risks that these bring. Dr. Mohieldin will underscore the need for investments in human capital, resilience, and infrastructure (including sustainable finance and digital technology) to help achieve the SDGs. Examples of the World Bank Group’s work in these areas will be offered in the lecture.

The lecture will be followed by a panel discussion and networking reception. All Mason faculty, staff, and students are welcome to attend.
