Dale Rothman will present on “Eliciting mental models for understanding the reasoning for and against solar geoengineering (SG) research.” Rothman is an associate professor in the Computational & Data Sciences Department. This talk will discuss the outcome of a project in which we asked a range of experts to complete a questionnaire and participate in a follow-up interview related to solar geoengineeing research. We used the results of these questionnaires and interviews to produce fuzzy cognitive maps for each expert, which were then analyzed to better understand different perspectives on this issue.
