David Barber will be the guest lecturer on the properties, applications, and industry trends in the use of modern structural mass timber. He is a Principal with multi-disciplinary engineering firm Arup, where he specializes in the fire safety of mass timber buildings. For over 20 years, David has assisted with fire testing, developing new timber technologies, authoring fire safety design guides for construction, working with wood product suppliers and completing fire safety solutions for mid-rise and high-rise timber buildings. David assists Arup in developing a US based team that works with researchers, architects and developers in the fire safety of timber structures.
