Students may apply for GTA positions by submitting the Application for Graduate School Assistantship along with a resume directly to the ISE department. Applications are reviewed by the department and offers will be made through mail.

A minimum TOEFL score of 600 is required for international students. To be awarded a GTA, foreign students must pass the SPEAK test, administered by the English Language Institute, with a score of at least 230.

Students should apply for GRA positions to individual faculty members.

Upon appointment, a minimum of 6 credit hours of coursework per semester is required for a full-time GRA or GTA position (20 hours/week) during the Fall and Spring semesters. Part-time graduate assistants (10 hours/week) must enroll for a minimum of 3 credit hours of graduate coursework during the Fall and Spring semesters. Note that a minimum of 9 credit hours is required for international students appointed to part-time positions.
