ISE Student EmploymentGRA or GTA positionsStudents may apply for GTA positions by submitting the Application for Graduate School Assistantship along with a resume directly to the ISE department. Applications are reviewed by the department and offers will be made through mail.A minimum TOEFL score of 600 is required for international students. To be awarded a GTA, foreign students must pass the SPEAK test, administered by the English Language Institute, with a score of at least 230. Students should apply for GRA positions to individual faculty members. Upon appointment, a minimum of 6 credit hours of coursework per semester is required for a full-time GRA or GTA position (20 hours/week) during the Fall and Spring semesters. Part-time graduate assistants (10 hours/week) must enroll for a minimum of 3 credit hours of graduate coursework during the Fall and Spring semesters. Note that a minimum of 9 credit hours is required for international students appointed to part-time positions.
