A certificate consists of five courses (plus any required foundations).

Each certificate offered by ISE may be taken on its own (with an appropriate application) or as a specialization within a MS degree (with a Declaration of Certificate form). The form can be found on the department web page at http://www.ise.gmu.edu.

Once you commence taking the fifth course required for the certificate, it will be necessary for you to complete a Certificate Application form, which can be downloaded from the web. The address is: http://registrar.gmu.edu/gif/cert.html. Please complete the form and bring it, along with your transcript, to the department office located in Room 330 of Science and Technology II building for the signature of an advisor and the Department Chairman.

Remember:

Complete a Declaration of Certificate form BEFORE taking the classes.
Complete the Application for Certificate AFTER taking the classes.
